About Anchor Point
Anchor Point is Morocco's most famous wave — a world-class right-hand point break that has hosted WSL competitions. When a solid NW swell hits, Anchor Point produces long, powerful walls that peel for 200+ meters along the rocky point. This is not a wave for beginners or even most intermediates. The takeoff is critical, the wave has real power, and the rocks are shallow. But when you see it firing, you understand why surfers travel from around the world to surf here. The wave needs a solid swell (6ft+) to really turn on, so it doesn't work every day — which makes the good days feel earned.
Getting There
Walk or drive north from Taghazout, about 20 minutes on foot. Parking above the cliff. Long paddle out — take the channel, not the direct route.
